The Broke Potter is a local ceramics brand started by Dan Wu, specialising in quiet, handmade and functional ceramics. Since catching the clay bug while teaching at a children’s summer camp 4 years ago, Dan has been elbow-deep in clay most days since then. Having recently come back to Hong Kong, Dan has started teaching beginners pottery classes and worked at a magazine.

The Broke Potter was kickstarted and dreamt up over lunch with some colleagues one day over a joke about being a penny-less Art graduate and the name has stuck ever since. Each piece is handmade with care and made to be used. See if there’s anything you like, you may just find your new favourite mug!
